Music, family fun and a variety of theatre at An Táin Arts Centre this May 2017    






 North Louth Artists: Exploring Louth – Basement Gallery, An Táin Arts Centre

North Louth Artists will display a variety of compositions ranging from vibrant abstract, well observed landscape to photo realist still life paintings on the theme of exploring different aspects of County Louth. Bronze sculpture will also feature in this exhibition. The artists in this group work in a variety of mediums – oils, watercolour, acrylics, pastels, inks and tempera as well as carborundum and Giclee prints.

Participating artists include Sandra Bell, Gerry Clarke, Irene Woods, Patricia Murphy, Paula Eigenheer, Siobhan Conyngham, Derek Bell, Patrick Conyngham, Ciara Agnew, John O’Connor and Rosemary Warren with guest artist printmaker Robert Kelly.

Ardú Music | Ireland's premier contemporary a cappella ensemble and An Táin Arts Centre’s vocal ensemble in residence bring their America Nova programme to Dundalk. Featuring music that has been influenced by, or has directly influenced, American culture over the past century. This beautiful concert features the debut solo performance of the Ardú Apprentices - seven of the most talented ensemble students from Dundalk Institute of Technology - who have been working with Ardú throughout the year.


Accompanied on piano by Brian Connor of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and Ulster Orchestra, the wide-ranging repertoire includes well known music by the likes of Billy Joel, Ben E King and Jeff Buckley, all arranged for Ardú's unique sound. This very special concert also features the world premiere performance of Homeward Bound, a commissioned piece by English composer and arranger Ollie Lambert.
